Top Books of 2014

It's time for my Top Books of 2014!
Let us start right away!

The Winter Palace by Eva Stachniak
This book made my appreciate Historical Fiction again. It combines so many things that I expect from a good book. Excitement, love, adventure, tears, joy. I could not put this book down, I had to read more and more! I can not wait to read the second part!

The Book Thief by Markus Zusak
I think this book appeared on many lists and this is really deserved! Liesel is one of my favorite protagonists! But also all the other characters and the story itself were amazing! The narrative perspective is unique and The Book Thief has moved me deeply!

Die Dienstagsfrauen zwischen Kraut und Rüben by Monika Peets
As you probably noticed this is a German book. I think you could translate it into: The Tuesday women between herb and turnip
This book is a part of a series about these five women who are friends over many years now. This book is about Kiki, who wants to open a Bed-and-Breakfast with her man and all the troubles surrounding it!
I just love this series so much, so no surprise this book is on the list!

Saving Francesca by Melina Marchetta
This book is just awesome. The issues in this book, are packaged in such a wonderful writing style and Francesca is a really great main protagonist! I am really grateful for this book!

The Fault in our Stars by John Green
This book probably made a lot of us cry. The story of Hazel and Gus got a special place in my heart! I was able to spend so many beautiful, sad but also funny moments with these two! Thank you John  Green that you let us be a part of it!

The Second Coming by John Niven
When I picked up this book and started to read it, I never thought that it is going to be one of my favorite books.
But it has become one. It is so funny and so typical rock'n'roll, but it also catches some serious issues of society in it. And when Bruce Springsteen has found a place in this book, it became defintely a top book!

Blue is the warmest color by Julie Maroh
I am so glad I read this book. Because at first I was unsure whether I should really read it or not
But now I'm just grateful for this because it gave me so many beautiful and sad moments, so many awareness!

I cannot really say what makes this book a favorite of mine but it simply warmed my heart and made me smile. I think it is the imagination and uniqueness that make this book so special!

The writing style of this book is unique and makes the story even more haunting. The topic of this book is incredibly important and because of that everyone should read this book. Even if it's just to be aware of the topic

We were liars by E. Lockhart
I think I dont have to say much. This book is unique. Fantastic. Beautiful. Read it to know how I feel about it!

Grace by Thilo Wydra:
This is a biography of Grace Kelly and it's definitely the best biography I've read by now! It's very informative but also written in such a personal way! It does justice to beautiful Grace!

One hundred names by Cecilia Ahern
Another book which I did not expect that I would love it so much. I think it is mainly the message of this book, which made it to be one of my favorites!
