I fall for fall

This morning fog covered the earth.
I opened the window, slowly, not knowing what I was afraid of.
I was angry, felt the sudden urge to push that fog away from me. Away from everything.
And then I stopped.
And then I realized.
Fog wasn't the dust that covered my soul anymore.
Things changed. I've changed.
And then I saw it.
The beauty that laid in this fog, the reflection of the sun in it, making it almost whimsical.
And then I started thinking.
This fall is going to be different.
I'm going to take the melancholy, the sadness that fall's offering me and turn it into something beautiful.

I think I might finally fall for you!

9/11 - In Memoriam

Everyone always asks: „Where were you, when it happened?”
I remember where I sat, I remember what I did, and most of all, I remember what I felt.
I was five.
My Mom was at the hairdresser. I was at home with my grandma. Watching TV, some show about animals, I think.
Then, suddenly it stopped. Breaking news. Pictures I couldn’t understand. First.
I was five.
All of the sudden, I realized the horror, the terror of these pictures. I covered my eyes with my hands, I screamed “Grandma, Grandma!”
I saw tears in her eyes, she wasn’t a person who cries a lot, and I knew, something terrible must have happened.
My Mom came home, close to crying, she saw us sitting there, my Grandma in tears, me sitting there, filled with fear, I had no idea.
I was five.
I asked “Mom, does the world stop now?” And it did, everything, everyone stopped. Everyone stood still in silence, in grief, in fear. And when the world started turning again, it was a different one.
I’m nineteen. It’s still a different one.
14 years. It feels like yesterday, doesn’t it? Because grief doesn’t know numbers. I may understand it better than back then, I will never understand it completely. How?
Hate, evil faced us with its most terrible appearance.
14 years later, evil hasn’t stopped yet, because we haven’t stopped evil.
We need to realize that not forgetting, means also not letting it happen again. Or at least we could try.
So many brave souls risked their life to save, to help. Now it’s our turn. We need to fight. Fight the evil.
“Do not accept an evil you can change.” (E.Lockhart)
We have to. For all those beautiful, innocent souls, who lost their lives. That’s the least we can do.

In memory of all those affected by this terrible, terrible event. We keep you in our prayers and thoughts. May your souls find rest.
We will fight for the good, I promise.

New Concept!

The last couple days, I thought a lot about my blog.
It means a whole lot to me, but honestly, I wasn’t happy about it.
That’s why I came up with a new concept!

The first thing that’s going to change is that I have regular, fixed posting days.
I will post a blog post every Friday!

In my blog description you can read what my blog is going to be about. Books, Writing, Christianity, Mental Health, Social Discussions and Lifestyle.

I will explain you now, what these different sections will contain.

This part of the blog will contain in-depth book reviews, discussions about topics in books, discussions about bookish topics (like Reading diversely, book buying, etc..)

I decided that it’s about time to make my blog a place for my writing too. You will mainly see poetry and some short fiction.

This section will also be about my life as a “writer” and my experiences.

I’m a young, Christian woman and I’m very proud of that. That’s why I want this to be a part of my blog. I will talk about my own experience with my journey with God, I try to give some advices, help you with your own journey and just share the love for God.

Mental Health:

While suffering of mental illnesses myself, I want Mental Health to be an important topic on my blog. I will talk about my experience, about different mental illnesses, about getting help, therapy, about the stigma surrounding it and a lot more!

Social Discussions:

I think this one is pretty clear. I will discuss current social movements/issues, including political discussions. For example how society is dealing with poverty, the issue of violence, problems with decreasing morality, etc..

You may realize that this is a widely ranged section, that’s why it includes a lot of different topics. It contains films, music, beauty (but more about the meaning behind it), fashion, different activities, etc..

I will mark every post with the name of the section it fits in, so, if you’re not interested in that specific topic, you can skip this post.

I hope you join me!

See you on Friday!

Poetry Snippets

A lot of you may know that I write poetry.
Some of you don't.
Because I haven't put something on here.
But now I do.
Some musings, haikuish, small little things
You're free to love.

I'm stumbling, I'm crumbling
My heart's desire is flooding me
To find the one
Who sets my heart on fire.

Being locked.
No one knocked.
I'm stucked.

Not afraid to love at all.
Because I've been loved before.
From Someone greater than
A human could ever be.

You may laugh at me.
You may run after me.
You may hurt me.
But you will never kill my fanatsy.

My legacy,
you should pass it one,
My legacy,
you, the one.
My legacy,
my words,
while I loved.

Regret is gone.
Fear may stay.
Darkness stays forever.

Sing out of tune.
Otherwise no one
will ever see you.

Music's filling me.
Lullabies from someone else.
For me.
To fill my heart.
And wake it up.
While I sleep.

Feel me.
Fill me.
Find me.
Follow me.
Forgive me.
For me.

Mirror, mirror,
tell me now.
Will there ever be
An ending to this fairytale
Where no one's killing me?

Puzzle pieces
puzzled me
I'm a puzzle piece myself.

Moonlight songs
On a cold September night
If there'll ever be sunlight.

The world is yours.

August Wrap-Up!

August was an interesting reading month.
I participated in the BookTube-A-Thon. And I failed. I'm so bad at read-a-thons....
But let's take a look at the wonderful books I've read during the month!

My month started with a German book called Orangen und Engel by Ingo Schulze. The positive point is that it made me interested in other stuff by this author. But I didn't really enjoy this one. Gave it 3 Stars

Then the BookTube-A-Thon to place and I've read the following books!

Where the wild things are by Maurice Sendak. A wonderful, very charming children's picture book. I've read that for the "Book in one sitting" challenge 5 Stars

The Age of Earthquakes: A Guide to the Extreme Present by various authors. A very thought-provoking non-fiction book! The art and design were used perfectly! That was a book I've recently acquired because of the recommendation of Leena over justkissmyfrog. 4.75 Stars

He's Just Not That Into You: The No-Excuses Truth to Understanding Guys by Greg Behrendt and Liz Tuccillo. Not my book at all, a lot of Black-and-White thinking. This one was the book I wanted to read for a long time unfortunately I had to give it  2.5 Stars

The Isobel Journal by Isobel Harrop perfect book at the perfect time. I read this one, because Leena over justkissmyfrog recommended this one too. I've described it on Goodreads as the perfect randomness! It was the book with blue on the cover. 5 Stars

So, I've only read 4 books for the BookTube-A-Thon...

The other books I've read this month:

Reasons to stay alive by Matt Haig A life changing, highly influential book about the truth about mental illnesses! 5 Stars

Guitar Notes by Mary Amato a surprisingly awesome, wonderful YA Novel which I couldn't put down! 5 Stars

As you may see, it was quite a great month, so I could put these books on my favorites shelf:
Where the wild things are
The Isobel Journal
Reasons to stay alive
Guitar Notes
